Who are these people, anyway?
intergenerational. Our church family includes people from all ages and we welcome people of all ages, from babies to great-grandparents. No one is too young or old to be loved by God!
diverse. Many different kinds of people make up our church family. We are thankful that we are a community of people of various racial and ethnic backgrounds (and political viewpoints) who worship, pray, serve, and just hang out together.
caring. We care about our city and the people in it. We serve young adults exiting the foster youth system, Title I school teachers, the poor, hungry and homeless in Bakersfield, and other areas. Through the leadership of our senior pastor and the connection of the broader United Methodist Church and other organizations, we share Christ's love regionally, nationally, and internationally.
imperfect. God is perfect, but we freely admit that we are not, so we want to make room for God's grace. We don't have it all together, but we love each other anyway and trust in a Savior who changes us from the inside out.

We are a vibrant community with a rich worship life and an active life of service throughout the city of Bakersfield and in other places around the world. We are a safe place where you can grow and flourish at any season of life. As a church, we believe that Jesus Christ is the way for us to achieve the best life possible. He is the way to salvation and eternal life. We are all broken, messed up, and hurt, but in Christ we can experience redemption, healing, and purpose.
