FUMC | Bakersfield Community Update
March 17, 2020
Dear Church Family ,
These days seem overwhelming to many of us, yet God is greater than what overwhelms. As Pastor Richard reminded us last Sunday, private disciplines help us grow closer to the Savior who heals and feeds us now, and can take us from death into life eternal. Those of you who are keeping up in our small group study got a great word of encouragement this week from Andy Stanley about bringing what we have to Jesus for His use, whether that be fear, discouragement, or very limited resources.
Many of you joined us online for our live stream worship gathering last Sunday. We are looking forward to worshiping together again this Sunday, and yes, it will be via live stream only. Find the church youtube channel, subscribe, and turn on notifications (look for the bell icon) and you’ll be notified as the livestream starts. Or, shortly before 9:30 Sunday morning, log onto fumcbakersfield.org, scroll down to “SERVICE LIVE STREAM & DIGITAL CONNECTIONS” and click on the “Service Live Stream” box. You’ll also find boxes for our new Online Attendance and Prayer Request form as well as Bible App sermon notes and the Bulletin. Join us for a thoughtful message and uplifting music.
These are uncertain and difficult times, yet we know that God is King. Jesus invites us to bring what we have to Him for His use, even in these times. With that in mind, we want to thank you for continuing to give to FUMC. We do have an urgent need at this time. Please give online (it is secure) via the church website (https://www.shelbygiving.com/app/giving/fumcbfl) or mail your gift to the church or drop off your offering at 4600 Stockdale Highway.
Lastly, please know you are on the hearts and minds and in the prayers of your church ministry staff. May God bless and keep all of us.
In Jesus’ Love,
FUMC Ministry Team
